Message from the President

Dear Candidate, 

Looking back at my time at Cal, I relished the opportunity to explore everything that college has to offer – but my journey didn’t start that way. Coming back from studying abroad in London after my freshman fall semester, I was searching for a community on campus. That’s when I found UBG, and I quickly realized it’s about the little things: the day members surprised me at my apartment on my birthday with a cake, the late-night calls to talk through setbacks/obstacles, and the weekends spent together on trips to Napa. These moments made me realize that UBG isn’t just a club – it’s a family. Through it all, thick and thin, I am proud to say that UBG has served as my home base, and I am forever grateful that I attended the recruiting events and met everyone during the Spring of 2023.

Everyone here is extremely driven, innovative, and passionate in their own ways. As we look forward to the Spring semester, I hope that you have a similar experience in your interactions with members of the organization, and are able to make lifelong friends that you can call family.

Our community is here to provide the Cal experience of your dreams – along with the friendships and professionalism that will stay with you for a lifetime. You will meet your best friends here that will not only be your classmates and roommates, but also your travel buddies, co-founders, and closest confidants. UBG was founded with the intention of forming a professional and social community unlike any other, and we look forward to having you join us.

You will have access to the very best members and alumni – each of whom have traversed the worlds of investment banking, consulting, technology, investing, and more. Whether it is burning the midnight oil together before a final round interview, making the crucial connection you need for your first internship, or going to concerts or clubs, we promise that we will be the mentors who will walk beside you every step of the way. We do it because each of us has been there for one another throughout college, and know this is the best way to pay it forward.

Lastly, you’ll see the magic of joining a community of some of the most driven, talented individuals at Cal. They’ve encouraged me to reach fullest potential as a friend, in school, and in my business career.
